I am honored and excited to share the latest issue of Legal Business World, featuring my article on artificial intelligence (AI), “How Existing and Developing Laws Apply to Artificial Intelligence, Part I.”
Legal Business World magazine is a publication of over 100 pages packed with insights into the business of law and the legal profession My collaboration with Legal Business World was a wonderful experience and I appreciate this opportunity to address this timely topic and to celebrate colleagues around the world who are advancing awareness of this important area.
AIso, AI is highly relevant to Online Dispute Resolution (ODR), as it can automate repetitive tasks, enhance decision making through data-driven insights, facilitate communication in remote online environments, and enable greater focus on strategic, complex and creative aspects of the service. These features of AI contribute to what I convey in my tagline, “Refining Dispute Resolution.” Human intelligence involves judgment, intuition and adaptability, critical areas that are beyond the capability of AI. The responsible and rational application of artificial intelligence for the purpose of augmenting rather than replacing human intelligence presents an opportunity to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and ethics of each type of intelligence and, therefore, provide a more refined service.
